NC Folk Festival

We’re thrilled to be partnering with the NC Folk Festival again this year! This annual event is a 3-day outdoor festival with music, dancing, food trucks, crafts & activities.

CSDHH is proud to sponsor communication access at the NC Folk Festival. There will be interpreted performances throughout the weekend; stay tuned for more info to come!

Please visit the NC Folk Festival's website to review the schedule and map to see where and when each performance will be. This event is rain or shine! No pets allowed (service animals permitted). There will be large tents available for shade. Bring your own lawn chair, or look for available chairs (limited).

Sign and Stride is an ASL walk/run club that meets every other Thursday. Run or walk, all paces, any distance. ASL is the language of the event. Join us to get outside, get moving, & make new friends—all while using ASL.

Join us 9/24/26 at 6pm. We’ll meet at Revolution Mill campus, on the backside of campus off of Textile Drive. Go down Textile down the hill, then turn left, and we’ll be in the far back right corner.

CSDHH Board Meeting

Board meetings are open to the public. All meetings take place in our office, at 1175 Revolution Mill Drive, Suite 15, Greensboro, NC 27405 (currently meetings are virtual via Zoom). The meeting begins at 5:30 with an Open Session that the public is welcome to attend. This lasts approximately 30 minutes. Then, the meeting moves to the Closed session, which is not open to visitors.

Sign language interpreters are provided. Learn more about the board and current members here!

Visitors will be asked to be camera-on (for virtual meetings) and introduce themselves.

NCDBA Museum Tour

Please join the North Carolina DeafBlind Associates on Saturday October 17! We will be going to the NC Museum of Natural Science followed by a fundraiser dinner at Chik-fil-A to honor our friend, Erin Bradford.

The museum has free admission. There is a guided tactile tour at approximately 1:00 that lasts an hour and a half, and has a 15 person limit. You can also walk around by yourself if you want. The museum address is 11 W. Jones Street Raleigh, NC 27601.

We will have a Community Spirit fundraiser at Chik-Fil-A that will be from 5:30-7:30pm. This will be in honor of Erin Bradford who did a lot for NCDBA. When getting your food, you must tell the workers you’re here for the NCDBA fundraiser. The address is 2000 Cameron Street Raleigh, NC 27605, and it’s in the Village District.

DSDHH Community Conversations

DSDHH Director Tony Davis has been traveling the state listening to community concerns about communication barriers. These Community Conversations are confidential, and are a way for DSDHH to hear from the community and improve in the future. CART and interpreting services are provided.

This is an opportunity to share barriers and challenges you face. These can be related to issues in the community getting communication access, or other ways that DSDHH could work to improve services in the future.

They are hosting an event in Lexington this December. It will be on Monday, December 7, from 3:00pm–5:00pm, at the SDHHDC office at 8 Franklin St., Lexington, NC.

If you'd like to attend, RSVP is required. You can email Jennifer.Cook@dhhs.nc.gov, or call 743-867-0621. Or, you'll see on the flyer that there is a QR code that you can scan to RSVP. The deadline is November 30th. After that, you may still be able to register, depending on space.

We hope to see you there, so that your voice can be heard! We encourage you to come and share your thoughts with DSDHH.

Greensboro Pride

Greensboro Pride is happening soon! Interpreting will be provided!

Coming up on September 12 is Greensboro Pride!

This is the 20th anniversary of this event. This will be in downtown Greensboro, based at LeBauer Park, with three stages. The main stage at LeBauer Park will have interpreting services provided, for all of their various performances, singing, and dancing.

This event goes from 11:00am until 7:00pm. Please come and enjoy the over 250 different organizations, food trucks, and vendors present. It will be so fun to visit the various booths, and CSDHH indeed will have a booth too, so be sure to stop by and say hi.

CSDHH Board Meeting

Board meetings are open to the public. All meetings take place in our office, at 1175 Revolution Mill Drive, Suite 15, Greensboro, NC 27405 (currently meetings are virtual via Zoom). The meeting begins at 5:30 with an Open Session that the public is welcome to attend. This lasts approximately 30 minutes. Then, the meeting moves to the Closed session, which is not open to visitors.

Sign language interpreters are provided. Learn more about the board and current members here!

Visitors will be asked to be camera-on (for virtual meetings) and introduce themselves.

DSDHH Community Conversations

DSDHH Director Tony Davis has been traveling the state listening to community concerns about communication barriers. These Community Conversations are confidential, and are a way for DSDHH to hear from the community and improve in the future. CART and interpreting services are provided.

This is an opportunity to share barriers and challenges you face. These can be related to issues in the community getting communication access, or other ways that DSDHH could work to improve services in the future.

They are hosting two events in Greensboro this July. First on Thursday, July 23, 5:30pm–7:30pm, then Friday, July 24, 10:00am–12:00pm. Both will be at the Greensboro Public Library Central Library branch, at 219 N Church St., in Greensboro.

If you'd like to attend, RSVP is required. You can email Jennifer.Cook@dhhs.nc.gov, or call 743-867-0621. Or, you'll see on the flyer that there is a QR code that you can scan to RSVP. The deadline is July 9th. After that, you may still be able to register, depending on space.

We hope to see you there, so that your voice can be heard! We encourage you to come and share your thoughts with DSDHH.
