Sign and Stride…is Back!
New location and a new schedule: every other Thursday at Revolution Mill.
See below for preliminary info for our soft launch on May 21, and look for more details to come for June.
Sign and Stride is an ASL walk/run club that meets every other Thursday at 6:00pm. Run or walk, all paces, any distance.
ASL is the language of the event.
Join us to get outside, get moving, & make new friends—all while using ASL.
Location and Parking
We meet at the rear part of Revolution Mill’s campus, off of Textile Drive. From Yanceyville, turn on Textile Dr., then at the bottom of the hill turn left. Go past the bridges and park in the back corner, near Buffalo Creek.
Do not enter campus on Revolution Mill Drive, and park like you’re going to the CSDHH office. There are not clear sidewalks from this side of campus to our meeting area, and there is not public parking at the back of the building accessible from Revolution Mill Drive.
You can use 1601 Yanceyville St. for GPS, but once you’re in the parking lot, head to the back right.

Distance Planning
We’ll have specific details on the distance landmarks ready for June’s events. For May 21, we’ll let you know upon arrival.
Tips to Keep in Mind
Wear comfortable, supportive shoes made for running or walking.
Most days will be hot. Drink plenty of water during the day beforehand, and feel free to bring water with you.
Apply sunscreen.
Wear comfortable, breathable clothes.
Consider planning to: stretch before, warm up, stretch after, cool down.
Get Started Running or Walking
If you’re unsure of how to best get started, we recommend researching guides or resources made by qualified professionals. There are many options out there to learn good form, to find training plans that can work you up to running (ex. couch to 5K programs), and to review other guidelines. In general, start small and gradually work up, paying attention to your body and how it feels.
