Join RiverRun for their Indie Lens Pop-Up screening of The Tallest Dwarf!
The Tallest Dwarf follows filmmaker Julie Forrest Wyman as she searches for her place in the little people community and unpacks rumors of dwarfism in her own family. Through intimate stories, creative collaborations, and archival history, the film delves into identity and medicine, asking whether society should change people or the structures that limit them.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A discussion.
This is a FREE screening, but registration is requested.
Accessibility Notice: Certified American Sign Language interpreting services will be provided by Kat Oviatt. The film will have open captions.

Presented by Frank Griffin and Sam Parker, this workshop will help show how knowledge of Deaf culture can impact your interpreting. Deaf culture has been passed down for centuries from one deaf person to another in an “oral tradition.” This oral tradition of sharing culture and language is the format and focus of this workshop. This ASL-only workshop explores how Deaf culture shapes interpretation and interaction within the Deaf community. Participants will analyze ASL stories to identify cultural nuances, enhancing both cultural competence and receptive ASL skills.
