Greensboro History Museum Signing Social - Lifted Voices: Black History

Costumed historical presenters will be in the museum galleries to share well-known and little-known stories of African Americans in Greensboro, featuring artist Malvin Gray Johnson, entrepreneur Eunice Dudley, abolitionist Vina Curry & many more. This program is family friendly, and brings to life people and stories from Greensboro’s past.

CSDHH will coordinate 3 hour-long tours with ASL interpreting, with groups moving through the museum and learning from the exhibit and from the costumed actors.

  • This program is free!

  • Free parking is available in two adjacent lots: Off E. Lindsay Street, between the museum entrance and Mary Lynn Richardson Park, and off N. Church Street, next to the veterans’ memorial

    Handicapped designated spots are available in both lots and in the bus pull-through in front of the museum entrance.

    Additional parking is available in the Church Street and Bellemeade Street parking decks, both about a 5 minute walk from the museum. Decks are free of charge on holidays and weekends. Free and metered on-street parking may also be available nearby on Summit Avenue and Church Street.

  • Each group tour will last one hour.

    We ask that you arrive no later than 15 minutes early (at 1:00pm, 2:00pm, or 3:00pm), so that each group can leave promptly at 15 minutes after the hour.

  • Yes! Professional ASL interpreters will accompany each group.

    We will also have IDEAS students from UNCG on site to assist as well.
