Signing Social

Looking for an opportunity to get together with folks and chat - in ASL? Signing Social events are perfect!

Whether you are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind yourself, are an interpreter or teacher, or are still learning ASL and looking for opportunities to practice, Signing Social events are a time to get together and have fun! Anyone is welcome to join - we just ask that you plan to communicate in sign! For those still learning, we totally get it and are happy to gesture, finger spell, or use other strategies. This is a safe, welcoming environment for all!

There are two regular monthly Signing Social events: Sip & Sign, and Signing Dinner. There may also be occasional other events as well.

Signing Dinner

Signing Dinner is our original Signing Social event, and has met for many years - you might know it previously as Silent Dinner! This is a fun, welcoming environment and opportunity for folks to get together, chat, and make new friends at a local restaurant.

Currently, Signing Dinner meets once a month, usually on the second Wednesday, at 6:30pm. We visit various local restaurants in the Greensboro area, typically places with counter service (rather than servers who come to the table).

Sip & Sign

Sip & Sign is our newest recurring event! Like all Signing Social events, this is a great way to get together and hang out in a relaxed, casual environment! New and experienced signers can meet up, socialize, and have fun.

Sip & Sign meets once a month on a varying schedule - sometimes weeknights, sometimes during the day, sometimes on the weekend. We emphasize supporting locally owned businesses, including coffee shops, breweries, tea shops, wine bars, and more.
