March 4 - Healthcare POA Workshop
We are partnering with the Triad Deaf Senior Citizens to host a free POA presentation to the community. This will be an introduction to Living Wills and Healthcare POAs.
Perhaps you’ve heard of a ‘Living Will’ or ‘Healthcare POA’, and are unsure what these are? These are separate from a regular will, which deals with finances or property after you pass away. Instead, these relate to decision-making should you be unable to make decisions for yourself, such as during a significant medical scenario or illness. These documents help your medical team and family members make decisions and know your wishes.
These documents must be prepared with a lawyer in advance. It’s best to take advantage of you currently being of sound mind and able to make these decisions, to document your wishes to assist your family in the future.
On March 4, we will partner with the Triad Deaf Senior Citizens to present about living wills and healthcare POAs during their event. An invited lawyer will come present about the basics, to allow you to start these conversations with your family members. We’ll also explain how you can make a separate appointment after this date to meet with a lawyer and prepare these documents.
This presentation is free. We recommend arriving by 10:30am, to ensure you are able to park and be in place when the presentation starts at 11:00am. This will be at 1175 Revolution Mill Drive, in Greensboro. We encourage you to RSVP below.
