CSDHH at The Human Race 2019!

Last year we had over 50 donors, walkers, runners, and volunteers help us launch the Evans -Melton Access Fund! This fund honors the collaborative efforts of Elice Evans and Shannon Melton, two graduates of the UNC Greensboro Advocacy and Services for the Deaf program 2018. Elice and Shannon shared a vision to bridge a growing number of inaccessible events, performances, and general entertainment at Greensboro public events.

Over the course of four months, Elice and Shannon spread awareness of this community need, cultivated community volunteers and donors, fundraised $2, 250.00, and volunteered their time and talents on the day of The Human Race! This record year is their legacy!

Donations that were raised in 2018 helped to sponsor two American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters at the 2018 NC Folk Festival all three days, totaling 30 hours of communication access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Greensborians!

We need your help again to replenish and to grow the Evans-Melton Access Fund! Consider donating and joining our team to ensure that more events in Greensboro are inclusive to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community!
