ASL Classes with CSDHH
Are you looking to learn ASL? Look no further! ASL classes by CSDHH will help you develop conversational skills in ASL and an awareness and appreciation for the Deaf community!
CSDHH has served thousands of students in our more than 50-year history of teaching ASL! We are a local non-profit organization rooted in the community, and our mission is to unlock barriers through awareness, accessibility, and inclusion. Whether you prefer learning in-person or online, starting at the beginning or working from an existing foundation, our classes are for you!
General Info - Schedule, formats, levels
Our classes meet once a week 6:00pm–8:00pm for eight weeks. All of our classes offer live, interactive instruction with expert instructors and classmates. We host in-person classes at our office in Greensboro, as well as virtual classes hosted via Zoom. Our Level 1 class is for folks with little to no previous experience in ASL, and Levels 2 and 3 build from there!
Enhanced Benefits
We work very hard to ensure our students are supported in a variety of ways! When you register for our classes, you're not just gaining access to our once-a-week classes. You receive added benefits in several ways:
We host an optional meeting each week for students to review, ask questions, and practice
Every two weeks we send you a curated list of beginner-friendly ASL-focused events to practice your skills
We coordinate opportunities for you to practice and learn from a variety of folks from the Deaf community during class
Requirements/Details
Our classes are geared towards low-stakes, conversational communication, and aren't intended to be training for professionals or to provide college credits. Our classes are open to anyone age 12 and up, both folks with typical hearing as well as folks who are deaf/hard of hearing themselves. For online classes, we encourage students to be sure you have sufficient equipment and connectivity.
