ASL Classes with CSDHH
Are you looking to learn ASL? Look no further! Our ASL classes will help you develop conversational skills in ASL and an awareness and appreciation for the Deaf community!
CSDHH has served thousands of students in our more than 50-year history of teaching ASL! We are a local non-profit organization rooted in the community, and our mission is to unlock barriers through awareness, accessibility, and inclusion. Whether you prefer learning in-person or online, starting at the beginning or working from an existing foundation, our classes are for you.
When you register for a class with CSDHH, you not only get a seat in a fun interactive ASL class, but you also get access to several unique benefits that we offer to our students! Additionally, we offer you exceptional value—our classes offer more than any comparable class at a significantly cheaper registration cost.
How Class Works
Regardless of whether you’re in-person or online, or which level you take, most classes work the same:
Once a week, from 6:00pm–8:00pm, for 8 weeks
Winter 2026 classes will meet 1/12–3/16. If you’d like us to email you when spring classes launch, click here.
Live, interactive instruction with expert instructors
Online classes meet via Zoom, in-person classes meet at our office in Greensboro
3 levels of class - starting from the very beginning and building from there
What You’ll Gain
You can expect a lot from our classes, and we work very hard to ensure our students are supported in a variety of ways. You’ll get:
Live, dynamic classes with knowledgable, welcoming instructors and your peers
Social, conversational skills to be able to talk to people in ASL
The chance to join a weekly optional review session to help support your learning outside of class, whether that’s to ask questions, have extra practice, or just review the material
A curated list of beginner-friendly ASL events to practice your skills, send to you every 2 weeks
Opportunities to interact with and learn from a variety of folks from the Deaf community in a safe, low-stakes environment
Who Class is For
Anyone age 12 and up can take our classes, whether you’ve always wanted to learn ASL, recently became curious, or have deaf or hard of hearing folks in your life you want to connect with.
Our classes teach low-stakes, social conversational skills - they’re not designed as training for interpreters or professionals, and don’t provide any high school, college, or professional credits
Our classes are designed for adults. Students 12–15 can join with parental permission, and if they’re attending in-person classes need an adult with them
Our students are both folks with typical hearing as well as folks who are deaf/hard of hearing themselves
