We welcome Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf-Blind, and Hearing to challenge other bowlers. We welcome children as well. If you have no skills, still come! We will teah you.

Organizers and assistants will be wearing t-shirts with "Deaf Social Cafe."

NCRID: MidState Kick-off 2008!

"Best Practices for Non-Signing Hard of Hearing Customers in Interpreting Situations" Presented by Cynthia Harmon

Areas covered include:
1. Impact of hearing loss on Hard of Hearing people`s behavior/attitudes and on others` perceptions of them
2. Techniques for effective communication with non-signing Hard of Hearing people
3. Special considerations when non-signing Hard of Hearing are in the audience when interpreters are used (positioning considerations, etc)

5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.--Come early and enjoy treats provided by MidState, workshop will begin promptly at 6 p.m.
